Katy is in Harris, Fort Bend and Waller counties. Old Katy is in the actual city limits of Katy and lies mostly north of Interstate 10. Greater Katy is in Harris and Fort Bend counties. Students are zoned to Katy Independent School District. Greater Katy is actually controlled by the city of Houston. There is also the city of Katy Dog Park!
